    • Obituary: Clenton Allen, 94, of Maynard passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Randolph Home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born July 29, 1930 in Walnut Ridge to the late Clarence Robert and Addie Elizabeth McGee Allen. Clenton was an Army veteran, having served in Korea where he earned a purple heart. He also worked as a farmer and then for TRW Cinch. He enjoyed woodworking and other crafts including making walking canes, flutes, and bird houses. In later years he enjoyed coloring and sharing his art with others. He was a longtime member of the Maynard Church of Christ. Clenton was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Geneva Mae Rainwater Allen; son, Clenton Allen, Jr; grandson, Joshua Dale Allen; brothers, Waymon, Thomas, and Albert Allen; and sisters, Wonetta Henson and Onetta Tunstall. Clenton is survived by his son, Dale Allen of Dalton; daughters, Phyllis (Eddie) Jones of Pocahontas, June Allen of Jonesboro, Debra (Lewis Reinhold) Allen of Maynard, and Sherry Huskey of Pocahontas; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Luther Allen of Walnut Ridge; sisters, Estelene Sebourn of Kensett, and Evelene (Paul) Ragsdale of Hoxie; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 10-11 AM at the Maynard Church of Christ with a funeral service beginning at 11 AM with Ligie Waddell and Phillip Rainwater officiating. Burial will follow in Northside Cemetery under direction of McNabb Funeral Home. Honored to serve as Pallbearers are Chad Dooley, Nick Allen, Caleb Allen, Jacob Allen, Chris Reinhold, and Travis Huskey.

Wonetta is survived by two sons, Frank (Linda) Henson, of Pocahontas, and Ely "Randy" (Gail) Henson, of Pocahontas; two daughters, Barbara (Sam) Smith, of Pocahontas, and Betty (Doug) Blevins, of Newport; two brothers, Luther (Joan) Allen, of Walnut Ridge, and Clenton Allen, of Maynard; three sisters, Estelene Sebourn, of Kensett, Evelene (Paul) Ragsdale, of Hoxie, and Onetta Tunstall, of O'kean; grandchildren, Chris (Linda) Smith, Amanda (Clay) Harris, Tonya (Isaac) Haigwood, Michelle Henson, Jessie (Willie) Pinkston, Jamie Pattin, Gary (Betty) Tate, and Mark Henson; sixteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his beloved parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Scott Allen; a grandson, Wally Milton; a great-grandson, Aaron Hergert and a brother, Waymon Allen. In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Charles West officiating. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery on Maryville Road in Granite City.
