    According to the Davidson Co., NC Hege, Story #1248 * Arthur was the son of Thomas Jefferson and Delilah (Hedrick) Wright of Cid. Ida's family lived on Wright Road. Arthur and Ida made their home in Winston Salem near their first jobs at R.J. Reynolds. They soon longed for life back on the farm and moved to land adjoining Thomas Wright. They had learned the ways of farming from early childhood experiences. To supplement income from the family farm, Arthur went to work as a section-hand on the new railroad and worked in the Emmons Mine. About 1920, he began growing tobacco as a money crop to bring in additional revenues for his family. By the late 1930's, Arthur abandoned the farming of tobacco and began a dairy farm. He kept his dairy farm until his death in 1966. Their children Margie and Luther remained on the homeplace after their parents' passed away and kept up the family farm on Cid Road.

    Thomasville, July 10 - Roy Grubb, 23, of Thomasville, died at the home of his father, Robert Grubb, of Cid. Sunday morning at 6o'clock diphtheria after a few days of illness.
    He is survived by his wife, his father and mother, four brothers, Will and John, of Thomasville; Vaughn and Odell, of Cid; four sisters, Mrs. Conrad Garner, of Thomasville; Mrs Clifford Hedrick, Misses Annie and Alma Grubb of Cid.
    Funeral service was held at Pleasant Grove Sunday afternoon, conducted by Rev. R. L. West, of Thomasville. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Ruby was born September 5, 1932 in Davidson County to the late Corbett Hill and Vellie Lambeth Hill. Ruby worked many years at PPG Industries. She was a member of Toms Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Ruby loved the Lord with all her heart and enjoyed reading her bible daily. She enjoyed working in the yard, gardening, keeping up with current events, but most of all spending time with her beloved family. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her son, James Edward "Eddie" Wilson; one sister, Freda Mae Hill Hepler; five brothers, Fred Hill, J.C.     Mr. David E. Hedrick, 84, of Burlington passed away at his residence on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 1:20 p.m.

    A native of Lexington, NC, he was the husband of Sylvia Webster Hedrick, who survives and the son of Clifford Hedrick and Bertie Grubb Hedrick, both deceased. He was the retired owner of D. E. Hedrick Logging Company and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Glen Raven Baptist Church.

    In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include two daughters, Lateffa Dennis and husband Lynn and Amanda Frank and husband Robert; three sons, Robert Hedrick and wife Tammy, Deane Hedrick and wife Dana and Kenneth Hedrick and wife Janice, all of Lexington; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Betty H. Wafford of Thomasville, Wanda H. Frank and husband Bill and Jenny H. Barns and husband Tommy, all of Lexington; and brother, Jimmy Hedrick of Kannapolis.

    The funeral service will be conducted at Glen Raven Baptist Church on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Bobby Fann with the family receiving friends from 12:45 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Long’s Chapel Christian Church Cemetery. Other times the family will be at the residence.

    Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
