- Obituary: 28 Oct 2005, Salisbury Post; Lawrence Grubb LEXINGTON - William Lawrence Grubb, 89, of Boones Cave Road, died Wednesday (Oct. 26, 2005) at Alston Brook. Born May 25, 1916, in Davidson County, Mr. Grubb was a son of the late Edward Lee and Clevie Feezor Grubb. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Retired from Fieldcrest Cannon in Spencer, Mr. Grubb was a member of Churchland Baptist Church. He was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class and served as former secretary. He was a former member of the Church Choir, a former deacon and was formerly in charge of the Baptismal Pool. He was preceded in death by sisters Gladys Davis, Clara Frank, Margaret Grubb and Pauline Jones and brothers Carey Grubb, L.V. Grubb and E.L. Grubb. Survivors include wife Kathleen Shoaf Grubb and a number of nieces and nephews. Service : 11 a.m. Saturday at Churchland Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Howell IV officiating. Burial will be at Grubb Cemetery in Churchland. The family requests that all active and former deacons of Churchland Baptist Church serve as honorary pallbearers and meet at the church at 10:30 a.m. Visitation : The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight at Piedmont Funeral Homes.
