  	GARRETT, ELBERT — age 86, of Route 2, Lancing, died Friday morning, Oct. 30, 1987, in Park West Hospital. He was the oldest regular attending member of Elizabeth Baptist Church where he had been a member for 65 years. Son of the late Daniel and Laura Jones Garrett. Preceded in death by: sisters, Ida Moore, Dove Buxton, Ada Bowers; brothers, Herbert and Charlie Garrett. Survivors: wife, Agnes Hucklby Garrett; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Hines and Ruth Taylor Garrett; grandson, Michael Garrett; granddaughter, Mrs. Rodney (Debra) Carson; great-granddaughter, Erica Hailey Carson, Ft. Ritchie, Md.; brother, Oliver Garrett of British Columbia. Funeral service 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Elizabeth Baptist Church, Rev. James Blakney, Rev. Billy Lowe officiating. Interment Elizabeth Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church one hour before the service. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg.
